Rip Curl Indonesia increases GromSearch Series to 11 events for 2013.

Rip Curl has doubled the size of its Youth Surfing platform in Indonesia this year by adding 6 more events to its popular GromSearch series.

The Rip Curl GromSearch series which was started in Australia in 1999, gives surfers aged 16 and under the opportunity to showcase their talents in a fun, friendly but competitive environment.

Already running in Indonesia for 9 consecutive years, the event has found some incredible talents from all over the country including Garut Widiarta, Oney Anwar, Putra Hermawan, Jeren Kiring, and many more…

Through working in partnertship with regional boarders communities, this year Rip Curl are able to increase the series to 10 qualifying events held all over Indonesia and one big National final somewhere in Bali for the finalists from each region.

Rip Curl is always on the Search for the youngest and freshest talents from around the world, recruiting the next generation of surfers from the remotest regions of the planet. This special Grommet event running throughout Indonesia's island archipelago is one way we can scout the next generation of upcoming surfers.

Every year, Rip Curl provides the under 16 division winners from the regions an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the National Grand Finals held in Bali.

The overall winner of the GromSearch National Finals will win a dream prize of being flown to Australia where they will compete against champions from all over the world in the International GromSearch Finals to be held during the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, Australia 2014.

This event is also part of the Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) and provides an opportunity for "Grommets" to win valuable ISC points which will go toward deciding the end of year ISC junior Champion.
